About Nina Marie and Bella

Hi : ) My name is Nina Marie and that’s my Chinook Dog Bella. I’m a family oriented Portrait Photographer and storyteller with heart that has a film and design background. I shoot personal individual and group portraits, ceremonies, weddings, pets, fashion, creative and commercial photography. I make photo albums, story books, copy, and more. I tell a mean adventure story in public or around a fire! I fell in love with photography in high school and learned how to take pictures and use an old school dark room to process my film. I use professional and digital equipment, open source editing software and databases, as well as my Samsung digital phone daily to take pictures and I encourage everyone to do the same! I believe everyone should feel comfortable and beautiful and in fact I truly believe we are all born free & beautiful and that’s why its the main statement on my business page and card. My mission and calling is to give all my friends, clients, and all of humanity the respect, love, attention, and boost of self esteem we all deserve (if that means editing your photos to achieve that…that’s great!) Photography and art should be accessible, personal and fun! That’s just the way I like it too! No snobby or exclusive art critics and creators here in this space. I have a friendly, open, and fun way of capturing all our life moments as they truly happen through photography. I recently travelled over 60,000 miles across North America on a journey discovering my true artistic and spiritual self while taking photos of my adventures, myself and my Dog Bella! I currently am a working photographer at 404 River St. Troy, N.Y. at the Photography Centre of the Capital District. I was the original and first associate director and helped Nick Argyros organize and create the vision, collections, and space. I’m back in residence and we are turning his vision over again into a museum! I also co-created a film last year with the VanDusen Botanical Garden. I’m a retired and award winning professionally trained Horticulturist and Master Gardener. Additional art mediums I still practice are garden design, painting, poetry, and pottery. I have a love of outdoor cooking, overlanding and back country hiking. Let’s document, capture, and create this beautiful life together.
